WWI 1914-1915 Star Trio to 27672 Pte. G. Fox of the Lancashire Fusiliers K.I.A 21.11.1917 SOLD
Condition – N.E.F.
George Fox was born and resided in the Yorkshire town of Sheffield and initially enlisted at Dewsbury into the KOYLI before being transferred into the 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. Pte G. Fox was placed along with his regiment in the 86th Brigade of the 29th Division and landed in Marseilles in March 1916.
The 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers first saw action on the Somme at the Battle of Albert on 1st July and later at the Battle of Transloy Ridge. In 1917, Pte. Fox took part in the Battle of Langemark and Poelcapple before being Killed in Action on 21st November 1917 during the second day of the Battle of Cambrai.
