1st Century Terracotta Roman Volute Oil Lamp SOLD
This 1st century terracotta Roman oil lamp depicts a running boar being hunted by a dog. The scene of the running boar being attacked by the hunting dog upon the boar’s back, is portrayed inside three concentric ring patterns within the bowl of the lamp.
This is a very fine oil lamp, measuring 95 mm in length, 70 mm wide and 30 mm in depth.
