4th Century Roman Red Ware Shard Sheep/Goat and Christogram Motif
This large section of red ware is from a plate and features a design of five backwards facing sheep within two bands of concentric rings. There is also part of the Chi-Rho (Christogram), an early Christian symbol, which would have been at the centre of the plate.
The red ware shard measures 115 mm by 100 mm.
