Three German WWI Real Photograph Postcards Aerial Bombing of Bonn
These three real photo postcards show damage to buildings caused by the four British Handley-Page Bomber raids on the German city of Bonn.
All three postcards have the name Bonn written in period ink at the top. One postcard shows a bomb-damaged roof of a German dwelling, whilst another depicts a German soldier standing in a ruined window opening of an official building. The third postcard shows two young soldiers carrying rifles and wearing Pickelhaubes and great coats, who appear to be guarding a damaged property.
This is an unusual group of quality photo postcards featuring the structural damage in the city of Bonn caused by early aerial warfare.
