Sixth Plate Tintype of a Full Length Armed Federal Infantryman
This Federal soldier stands to attention in full uniform and kepi. He wears a moustache and his cheeks have been slightly tinted. He is wearing a 9 buttoned frock coat including a sash and regulation trousers. To his right side he carries an upright musket with accompanying sling and attached bayonet.
The tintype is set in an oval brass mat with its accompanying protective glass and brass preserver. The blackened embossed case comprises of two separate halves with the tintype in the left and velvet in the right side.
There are a number of scratches on the surface of the tintype, but none spoil the actual detail of this impressive rare image.
